I personally feel that if you need friends, social life, something to do, get out of your house.  Check out this group. Sometime all one needs is something to do. To keep your mind occupied and to physical activities. I occupy myself with taking my grand boys to school,picking them and taking care of them. Until their parents pick them up. Also training my puppie, crafting, decorating, and best of all therapy shopping.

NAMI. Has support groups. They are one of the best organizations out there to help with all sorts of Mental Illness....

You could google/call them for the nearest location. I have spoken to several Mental Health Professionals and they all have recommended NAMI.

Motivation is a key factor in life.

When I am depressed I try to get motivated.  I get up from bed and set out to do a project.  Anything, like a craft.  I love crafting or I paint.  I usually change my decorations by painting them.  Since I live on a strick budget.  I paint my decorations different colors to change the look of my place.  If I have a little extra money after paying the bills then I do shopping therapy.

I also have been taking my grandson out to play and meeting and talking to other parents or grandparents.  I do this because sometimes I need to get out of my house.  Because the more I stay inside my house the more lonely I feel, the more depress I get.  But believe me sometimes all I crave is to be alone.  But it's not to be depress at home it's just to relax and watch movies.

I am trying to have more of a social life.  So far I have socialized more this year then pass years.  I actually have to force myself but I do it, in order not to get in that creepy darkness of depression.  Now I am trying to do my own thing. Since my kids are doing their own thing.  And I have no one here in ️NY.   My very best friend lives in Florida. Lol maybe being miles apart has maintain the relationship strong.

Depression hit me hard

My depression creeped up on me this Friday it hit me very hard.  I was extremely emotional.  Crying all day. I still hate the fact that anything  could just trigger my depression. I have not had an episode like I got on Friday in a very long time.  I have been doing great until bang it hit me. It took over me like a great storm washing over the land. 

People see you but they don't know about the demons your battling inside you.  Yes I feel like I have demons causing havoc inside of me.  Trying to swallow me in a pit of over whelming darkness, and sadness.  I have struggled with the demon called depression for years.  But I could be totally good for months. Then it comes out of no where trying to take me into that pit of darkness and sadness.

But when I come back, when I defeat the demon (if only for a while) I feel like a butterfly coming out of my caccoon. And all I want to do is spread my wings and fly, until my wings are clipped once again. 😩

3 different types of depression moods. And treatment ratio.


These are the types of  feelings of depression.  I sometimes have all 3 at different times. Be informed because this is an illness that lots of people are not informed in. Even if you go to a doctor they say oh your are suffering from depression. But they really don't explain it to you as they should. I have always been told "your suffering from depression". But what are the feelings your get other then mood swings and crying a lot or being overly emotional. Well I for one didn't know until now that I'm doing all this research. I hope my post help at least a couple of people out there. Because there is not enough awareness on Depression.



Signs of depression in elderly people.


Are your parents 65 and older? An aunt/uncle? Grandparent?

Recognizing the signs of depression, my mother is on her way to being 90. She complains to me that she is always left alone. ( my oldest son n oldest daughter live with her. But they have work n a social life so they are not there 24/7. But someone is always with her).  She is suffering from headaches, stomache pain.  She also has no appetite and has lost a lot of weight.  Now reading this information has given me an insight to what is wrong.  She is suffering from depression, but it will be very hard for her to go get treatment.  Besides that she will never admit she has depression.  Being from the old times. They never reveal any form of mental illness. And that is ashame. But now at least I know what's wrong and try to help her.
